The DualSense features the same color scheme and pattern, with the Spider-Man logo front and center on the touchpad. On top of that, it’s expected to set the scene ahead of the game’s arrival, giving us further insight into what Peter, Miles, and MJ have all been getting up to since their last appearance. Across The Spider-verse Suit

This guide was specially crafted for the PS5 version of Spider-Man 2 and also applies to the 2025 PC version. Despite being awash with paramilitary criminal organisations, New York has never felt more toothless and dull. Dialogue has this odd faux-wholesome tone, like you’re trapped in a corporate training video—all careful politeness and empty one-liners. Even in emotional outbursts and tense confrontations, there’s no edge to anyone or any sense of an inner life. They’re so blandly nice it tips over into being unsettling—you keep getting that feeling like everyone’s waiting for you to leave so they can badmouth you behind your back. My hope for this sequel was that with the core action already perfected, there would be the space to improve on the wider formula, creating a more interesting New York playground. Instead, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 simply has more stuff—a bigger story, more pointless collectibles, sprawling skill trees, and double the Spider-Men.

The game delivered thrilling action and stunning visuals, effectively bringing Peter and Miles to life in a captivating way. PC Purchase Perks include an Arachknight Suit for Peter and a Shadow-Spider Suit for Miles (with 3 color variants each), a Web Grabber Gadget, and +3 Skill Points. With a PlayStation Network account connection, players can receive two additional suits, the Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit and the Miles Morales 2099 Suit. According to a massive leak in 2023, the studio’s roadmap revealed that it was aiming to release Marvel’s Wolverine in 2026, followed by Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 in 2028. Although there was an almost four-year gap between the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4 and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fans won’t have to wait as long. Insomniac confirmed back in October 2024 that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be coming to PC on January 30, 2025. Spider-Man 3 is shaping up to be all about the Green Goblin and a returning Doc Ock.

MArvel’s Spider-Man 2 gave players more information about Kraven beyond his motivations. Wounded, Peter builds himself an armored suit and confronts Otto atop Oscorp Tower, rescuing Norman. Otto reveals that he knows Peter’s secret identity and a battle ensues. Spider-Man retrieves the antidote and defeats Otto, leaving him to be arrested. Peter is forced to choose between using the limited cure to save May from her imminent death or synthesizing a vaccine for the infected masses; he decides to save everyone.

Especially with the added personal connection between Spider-Man and Venom, really highlighting Venom as the dark mirror of Peter. Hopes were high when the teasers at the end of both Spider-Man and Miles Morales teased the arrival of Venom. And, thankfully, it’s the only part of the story they actually did well.

Peter chooses to save everyone else, which leads to a tearful goodbye from his loved one. Otto Octavius later turns into Doc Ock and frees Mr. Negative, Electro, Vulture, Rhino and Scorpion to form the Sinister Six. Doc Ock takes the Devil’s breath and releases it in Times Square, also infecting Aunt May. While Mary Jane informs Peter of the location of the cure, Spider-Man is forced to build a new armored suit in order to defeat Doc Ock, who has beaten Spider-Man and taken Osborn and the cure. After struggling to deal with Kingpin in the prequel novel, Spider-Man successfully defeats him at the beginning of the game (don’t worry, he’ll be back, though), which opens up the door for a new crime gang to take over the throne.
